The Chronicles of NarniaThe Chronicles of Narnia were written by C.S. Lewis, the renown Christian author. The Chronicles trace the history of the mythical land of Narnia and Aslan, the Lion. Though it is usually classified as children's fiction, there is much more to the books than just a nice story. Lewis is actually writing about the Christian faith. I read these books in the fourth grade, and loved them, especially The Horse and His Boy because of its humor. At the time, I believe I picked up some of the allegory, but not all of it. I read them again in about eighth grade, when I understood much, much more. We had read it as a family, also, so it is often used in our discussions. I highly recommend this series to anyone. There is one point of debate, however, and that is the order in which the books should be read. The recently published versions are arranged roughly chronological. The order I have listed them in is the original order and the order in which they were writen by Lewis. I read them in this order, and am very glad of it.
