The Reluctant Saint is about Saint Joseph of Cupertino. He lived in the 17th century and was a Franciscan monk. This is an excelent movie portraying a lot of the really cool things about Joseph of Cupertino. For example, the surprise of the monks when he is ordained a priest is done really well, and Father Raspi's intense dislike for the simple man is well played. Ricardo Montalban is wonderful as Father Raspi. (Ricardo Montalban also played Khan in the old Star Trek series and in the movie, "The Wrath of Khan." He is a very good man, and a Catholic, and promotes Natural Family Planning and the Right to Life movement.) This is a very funny and meaningful movie, and there is nothing in it that would be unsuitable for children, though they may not understand all of it.
